Foothills
Foothills was Born on the first day of winter 2020.
The fire was ignited when the desire to just play the best fucking riffs ,overcame three beings from the western mountain range of Sydney.
Inspired by the impressive and sonically diverse scene of the city of Sydney Australia, the fledgling project worked on tracks to solidify their sound and in mere months of existence, a second guitarist, joined the ranks to bolster the foundations of Foothills, and finalized the lineup.
Forged in the fires of the scorched Blue Mountains of Western Sydney, Foothills combines, Death-Doom, sludge and Melodic Hardcore to exhibit something seemingly accessable whilst challenging expectations of all the genres at once.
Incorporating Dual vocals into their sound, layering textures and sonically weaving a new tapestry from the old cloth’s, Foothills fills a void.. whilst crushing to witness, listeners will always note the importance of melody.. there’s a sense of hope and optimism between otherwise belligerent riffs..
Having cast magic with some Sydney Australias biggest hitters in the scene (Mountain Wizard Death Cult, Astrodeath, Flaming Wrekage, Oar to name a few, in some of Sydney best venues, Frankie’s pizza, the Vanguard in Newtown, baroque room katoomba, the Duke of Enmore)
Foothills are nailing their stake, and setting their place in the festering earth that this new wave of Australian Death and Doom have created.
New blood to some, the ancient soul of Foothills is ready to move more than mountains all whilst conjuring tales of old gods and modern emotions with their debut release imminent..
Brazen and bold, Foothills are lurching forward from the mountain’s shadow and eager to explore new territories.
