Counterpoint Xylophone Orchestra
Counterpoint is a children’s music ensemble consisting of xylophones, metallophones, glockenspiels and other tuned and untuned percussion instruments. The performers meet to rehearse from 4.30pm to 6pm each Friday in the Katoomba studio of music teacher, Alison Lockwood.
Counterpoint aims to provide music for the Blue Mountains community in both indoor and outdoor venues. Their repertoire specialises in music from other cultures and music for special occasions such Winter Magic, Christmas and Mother’s Day. Counterpoint performs for the public 4 to 5 times per year.
