Fresh off a national tour with shows at Woodford Folk Festival and sold-out Melbourne launch for debut EP Suitcase Cake, this is Gusto Gusto’s first Winter Magic appearance. Supported by local roots/folk/reggae superstars Kopasetic, come down for an early Sunday night party.
Locally sourced, ethically grown and completely home-made, Suitcase Cake is the Saturday night soundtrack to your Sunday morning sleep in. It’s the ache in your calves at the first summer bush doof. It’s the crest of the wave before the crush of the sand. Tuck into a slice of West Preston’s finest.

We’ve started cooking up some new recordings and we’re hitting a couple of festival stages soon, so this is a warm up show to try out out some new material.

Gusto Gusto is more than just West Preston’s best dressed band; they’re a flamboyant seven-piece show that delivers a hefty dose of audience participation and non-stop dance tunes. With loud, happy music that’s guaranteed to fill the dance floor, they’re a popular choice for dive-bars and festivals alike.
In 2022, the band hit the ground running with a frenetic first year that included performances at some of Australia’s most notable music festivals, including the City of Melbourne’s Firelight Festival, Woodford Folk Festival, Cresfest and Cullulleraine Music Festival. They also completed a sold-out summer tour with shows across Melbourne, Canberra, and Brisbane.
Their debut EP, Suitcase Cake, released on November 5th, 2022, is led by the rollicking clarinet-driven foot-stomper “West Preston Lullaby.” With their irresistible energy and infectious tunes, Gusto Gusto is a party starter.
