Trash Baby
Playing cosmic power pop with a grunge-emo edge, influenced by Paramore, Elliott Smith, and beabadoobee, this enigmatic group have honed a rare kind of musical energy by combining a pop songstress with a rock guitarist and a punk-metal drummer. Their punchy and catchy songs are mainly written by their charismatic frontwoman Taylah Harrington, and are enhanced by the tenderness and aggression of bassist Reyhn Marvin (Litter, ex-Tigermoth, ex-Call To Florin), and drummer Corin Shearston (Magma One, earprojector). With a refined setlist ranging from soft psychedelic ballads to scorching punk and catchy funk, Trash Baby performed their debut gig at Lawson skatepark on April 16 2021, before going on to perform at a pottery, another skatepark, a ‘bush doof’, house parties, bars, and pubs. Trash Baby recently recorded their debut rock single, ‘This Time Next Time’, with Katoomba producer Travis Hackett (Boy & Bear), which was mastered by Rick O’Neil (Jimmy Barnes, Billy Idol, Kylie Minogue), and released on May 13. Trash Baby recently supported The Rubens on May 14 at Katoomba RSL, and have now also performed at Marrickville’s Lazybones Lounge, The Blue Mountains Theatre in Springwood, and Katoomba’s Station Bar.
