The Parke Street Social
The Parke Street Social are a couple of local resident DJ’s, Dins & Kevlar, who broadcast a Sunday evening show on Radio Blue Mountains 89.1FM, playing a weekly mix of the finest funk, disco and house music.
They have been operating in the Blue Mountains for close to 4 years, however between them, they have been ripping up the dancefloors for 30 years. Dins has had many residencies in his home-town in Leeds (UK), has guested up and down the UK, plus a residency in Tokyo, before moving out to Australia in 2003. Although Kevlar is relatively new to the DJ world, his knowledge of dance music stems back all the way to the classic clubs in the UK, which were icons of the dance music scene in the late 80’s and early 90’s, such as the Hacienda in Manchester. Between them with their experience and knowledge of the dance music scene, they are fast becoming the go-to option for house music here in the Mountains. They bring great vibe, and the latest in what funk and house music has to offer.
The Parke Street Social’s launch party in March 2023 at The Baroque was sold out way before the night, and was a complete success. This is just the start of their growth, as they have many creative ideas ready to act upon which aim to raise the bar of Blue Mountains nightlife, and raise the roof at their future events.
