Gavin Bowles & The Distractions
After over a decade of playing, recording and touring Aus in various outfits, Gavin Bowles began a solo career in 2018; beginning with an EP release and a follow up single in 2019. During the recording process of making his 2020 debut album ‘This Years Modern’, he enlisted the help and talents of a few friends and former band members to form what would become The Distractions.
Bowles songwriting, vocal melodies and guitar playing evoke the stylings of Elvis Costello, Stray Cats and The Jam to name a few. Together with The Distractions, the combined quartet exhibit a refined and energetic live show; toting songs of personal triumphs and tribulations – always with a guitar lick and smirk in tow.
